Redistricting for Highly Partisan Purposes Harms Texans

The League of Women Voters and its partners in the Fair Maps Texas Coalition oppose Texas's unusual mid-decade Congressional redistricting push.

Redistricting affects many constituents and communities. If done for highly partisan reasons, it has the effect of reducing or rendering effectively voiceless the voices of community members. Committees in both houses of the Texas Legislature during this 2025 Special Session are holding hearings. Find out more and what you can do here.

Have Something to Say to Your Elected Rep(s)?

You don't have to be a member of the League of Women Voters to use the LWV of Texas's Take Action tool.

Anyone can use it to quickly find their state legislator or member of Congress to email them about your views on legislation under consideration or other matters of concern to you. For legislation priorities of the League on proposed bills, the League offers a draft you may use or modify – or write your own email or letter on a topic you care about. The tool also makes it easy to write a Letter to the Editor. Check it out!
